BioTechUSA Tortilla Baking Mix is a gluten-free, vegan flour mixture you can use to make tortillas, or if you prefer Greek cuisine, pitas (which are essential for gyros).
The flour mixture contains rice flour, sunflower seed flour and corn starch. However, we also added bamboo fibre and psyllium husks powder, to increase the fibre content. The added fenugreek seed extract and oregano gives the prepared tortilla or pita a delicious seasoning.
Besides the flour mixture, all you need is a little yeast, oil and lukewarm water. Combine the ingredients thoroughly, let it rest, and put it straight into the oven. You can make whatever filling or topping you’d like, and if you want a dash of extra flavour, spice it up with one of our Zero Sauces!
The ready-to-eat product only meets the claims (gluten-free, vegan, source of protein, high in dietary fibre) if the topping/filling also meets these claims.
